The latest data on global wealth shows a clear trend — the United States continues to lead the world in where the ultra-wealthy reside.

According to a March 11, 2026 report by Statista, citing the Forbes World’s Billionaires List:

The U.S. has 989 billionaires, the highest in the world
China ranks second with 610
India follows with 229
Germany has 212, and Russia has 147
Globally, there are now more than 3,400 billionaires, with 390 new billionaires added in just one year — more than one per day.

The list also highlights how wealth is being created in different ways — from real estate development to technology startups. It even includes new billionaires from emerging industries like AI, along with well-known names such as Beyoncé, Roger Federer, Dr. Dre, and James Cameron.

What This Means for Us in Southeast Florida

The U.S. leading the world in billionaires reinforces something we see locally — wealth continues to concentrate here.

In Southeast Florida, this shows up in demand for real estate, especially in desirable coastal and lifestyle-driven areas. Whether it’s primary homes, second homes, or investment properties, high-net-worth buyers continue to play a role in shaping the market.

Even if you’re not in that category, their activity can influence pricing, competition, and long-term property values.
