Florida’s economy continues to grow and gain recognition on the global stage.
According to a July 16, 2026, article from Florida Realtors®, citing the Florida Chamber Foundation, Florida’s economy is now valued at $1.8 trillion, making it the 14th largest economy in the world. The state moved up from 15th place after surpassing Australia and Mexico.
Key findings:
-Florida’s economy grew 6.3 percent over the past year
-The state now ranks as the world’s 14th largest economy
-Florida would need about 2 percent additional growth to surpass South Korea and move into 13th place
-Reaching the top 10 would require about 21 percent additional growth
-Florida ranks No. 1 for new business startups
-Florida ranks No. 1 for net income migration
-Florida ranks No. 1 for new business migration
-Florida ranks No. 1 for manufacturing job growth
-Florida has the nation’s No. 1 higher education system
-Florida ranks No. 1 for Black-owned businesses
-Florida ranks No. 2 for Hispanic- and women-owned businesses
-Florida has the lowest state debt per capita
The Florida Chamber Foundation said the state’s continued growth reflects job creation, business investment, population growth, and new economic opportunities.
