Walkability often gets attention when people talk about quality of life, but bikeability is becoming an important part of the conversation as well.
According to a June 3, 2026 report by Statista, citing rankings from PeopleForBikes, Brooklyn, New York, is now the most bicycle-friendly large city in the United States.

Key findings:
-Brooklyn ranked #1 among large U.S. cities with a score of 73
-Minneapolis ranked #2 with a score of 72
-Seattle scored 66
-San Francisco and Queens, New York, each scored 63
-The rankings evaluate bike networks, including protected bike lanes, off-street paths, safe crossings, and shared streets
-Several smaller cities scored even higher, including Provincetown, -Massachusetts (96), Crested Butte, Colorado (87), and Jackson, Wyoming (80)
-Boca Raton ranked 2,457 out of 3,019 cities.
The rankings show that thoughtful infrastructure can support cycling, even in cities with challenging terrain or colder climates.
